Sand & Finish

Restore Your Floors

Hardwood floors in medium-high traffic households endure all sorts of wear and tear, despite their resilience. A variety of actions, from moving furniture to dropping heavy objects can cause scratches or gouging to your hardwood floors. If this sounds like your home, or you just want to change the look or color of your floor, a sand and finish would be what you’re looking for. Here at Dave’s Floor Sanding and Installation, we know nothing enhances the look of your floors more than a complete sand and finish. For 40+ years, we have executed numerous sanding and finishing projects to help restore your floors and staircases natural beauty.

Our Process

For every project, we offer a free, in-home estimate with one of our experienced estimators. After the initial meeting and a timeline is created, we ask for 50% down on the day we start work. You can expect crews of 1-2 well trained craftsmen to complete the job in a timely manner, generally within 1-3 days. Our skilled craftsmen are not paid on commission, nor are they subcontractors, so you can expect open conversation throughout the process that will provide you with the full benefit of our knowledge and expertise. Once the floor is sanded, we can apply 3 coats of oil or water based polyurethane for a finish that showcases your floors’ natural beauty. You also have the option to choose a stain color from the variety of Duraseal stains we carry. After which we would apply 2 coats of oil or water based polyurethane. After 48 hours, you can start putting your appliances/furniture back to their places. We provide fast turnaround, however, we tend to book out 2 weeks in the summer and a week or less in the winter.

Finishes

Matte

This finish is best if you prefer a flat, clean look. Being the lowest sheen level available, it tends to conceal scratches and dust very well.

Satin

This finish is best if you want to add some shine that lets the natural beauty of wood grain come through, while still concealing small scuffs fairly well. This is our most popular finish and seems to be highly recommended by interior decorators.

Semi-Gloss

This finish is best if you want a shiny look that really highlights the details of the wood.

High-Gloss

This finish is best if you want an almost mirror-like appearance and are willing to put in the extensive work to maintain its gleam.
