Bubbles in Wood Floor Finish
If you have recently had your hardwood flooring refinished or installed and have noticed some bubbles in the finish, this is something you might want to look into right away and not ignore.
During the finishing process these "bubbles" occasionally form along the seams of the floor boards, this can be a normal occurrence that will fade away over time. However, if you are noticing areas of these bubbles in your hardwood flooring outside of the seams, this is something that needs to be examined and repaired. What can eventually happen if left alone is that when these bubbles do go down they can leave small craters which can be receptacles for dust and dirt causing your floor to continually look dirty.
Bubbles in your finish can be caused by not cleaning the floor completely prior to the finish being applied, too aggressively shaking the cans which allow air in, too quickly applying coats of the finish, too thick of a coating applied, not allowing proper drying time, allowing air flow too soon after applying, using the wrong finish applicator, a contaminated work area or there might even be a problem with the finish itself. Another potential cause can be that the stain did not dry completely before the finish was applied.
Attempting to determine the exact problem and following through with a solution, can be a difficult task. It is important for an expert to see the flooring first hand to ensure the problem is fixed properly to avoid damage to your hardwood flooring. Our experienced flooring contractors at Dave's Floor Sanding have not only the knowledge to determine what is occurring, but the equipment necessary to safely repair any flooring problem. With over 35 years in this business we have what it takes to help you get the best results possible for any of your hardwood flooring problems.
